Like a lot of you when I first became a BCBA there wasn't a lot of support for some of the behind the scenes skills BCBAs need.
Hello scheduling, organizing materials and programs, constant emails and a never ending to do list YIKES! It was enough to make me start to question if I had made a big mistake. I was waiting for someone to teach me what to do and tell me that there was a better way. It turned out that no one had the solution and I had to figure one out on my own. At first I was OVERWHELMED thinking I needed permission to add in new procedures for myself and on my cases. Then I realized I had the FREEDOM and could setup and organize things how I liked CUE LIGHT BULB MOMENT! I created system after system to address areas I found messy and disorganized in my organization that were driving my type A brain insane. I made them fun and quirky with bright colors and patterns to make me smile throughout the day when I pulled them out. My staff started commenting on how they loved how organized my cases were and how it made their lives easier. I started sharing resources with my friends, coworkers and even MY BOSS!!
Then it happened. I answered a post on one of the many ABA Facebook groups helping another BCBA in need organize something that was giving them a headache... just like how I had learned to do for myself. Minutes later I had over 100 people reaching out needing help with the SAME Problem. I quickly realized there were so many BCBAs who felt STRESSED, OVERWHELMED, DISORGANIZED, CONFUSED and didn't have anyone to help. With my love for organization, color coordination, and ALL THINGS SYSTEMS. I jumped in to help others find the BALANCE, SIMPLICITY, CLARITY, and FUN in their day with the help of some well planned organization while destressing their life in the process! IF YOU ARE HERE: Welcome to the family! I can't wait to meet you and help you take on the world one aesthetically decorated organizer at a time!!
